Well, I've completed a couple of quilts since my last entry.  The top X-block went to my daughter's friend for her wedding and the red, white and black one went to my uncle in North Carolina.

I've been quilting quite a bit lately.  I finally finished the binding on my 'granny square' quilt.
I am very happy with all of the fabrics and combinations.  I've also been making runners.
Off to work on a few more projects.

A Finish on the Lake

Finally finished my granny square quilt at a quilt retreat this past weekend.  The quilt shop, Stitch Your Art Out held a retreat at Raystown Lake and it was a fabulous quilting getaway.
12 hours a day of sewing was wonderful.  Someone else was doing the cooking and cleaning, leaving us to enjoy the beautiful scenery and sew, sew, sew.

Easter--Already???

I don't know where the time goes...sort of scary.  It was September only yesterday.  The weather was blustery and the trees had a few leaves.  That is the same as today.
Anyway, sorry about not blogging for awhile.  Injuries, surgeries, trips and other perfectly plausible excuses are ready if needed.
I have been busy making quilts and other sewn creations.  Most have already been sent to recipients, so no photos. This is the most recent that was just sent down to North Carolina for an Easter present.
More updates to follow in the days to come.

Project Sent and Project Received

I purchased this pattern for the rose tryptych at the quilt show at Oaks last week.  My mother loves roses and since her birthday is today, I made it for her.  She will be receiving it a day late but my Mom is good about understanding how life gets in the way of plans.
At the quilt show I also received a lovely pin cushion from a blogger on Pat Sloan's forum.  A group of us met up at the show.

Great Quilt Show in Oaks, PA

Took a great class with a few Sloanie friends at the Oaks Quilt show this past weekend.  Laura Wasilowski was a hoot, (that is her on the end in the black and white jacket) and opened out eyes with respect to color, technique and fusing. A group of us that chat on the Pat Sloan forum met up at the show and you would never know that we hadn't known each other for years.  It was a great weekend and a fun show.

No Damage from Irene

We were fortunate once again and received no damage from the hurricane that ravaged the east coast.  We did get some rain, but nothing that caused flooding.  My heart goes out to all of those who suffered losses due to the storm.
